What I’m building, backing, and getting wrong.

I write this when there is something worth sending, which is not on a schedule. It goes to the same list I have been writing to since 2020.

Roughly, it covers three things:

• Building. What running The Discoverability Company actually looks like from inside, including the parts that are not working yet.
• Backing. What I am seeing at pre-seed, and why I wrote a check or did not. The deal memos are public for the same reason.
• Getting it wrong. The research behind The Patterns of Startup Failure, which started with my own and now draws on a lot of other people’s.

No sequence, no drip, no upsell at the end. One address, never shared, and an unsubscribe link in every send that works the first time.
